It all started when I walked into a gallery many years ago and was blown away at the lifelike image and beauty of “Carmel, Sunset on Ocean Ave.” I knew one day I would want to own that painting. Then by the year 2001, I found myself working for a large company and finally had saved up enough to afford a Kinkade. It was right after 9/11 and the painting “The Light of Freedom”, moved me to buy my first. I called the local gallery at Carolina Place and reserved one before I even saw it in person. And what painting do you think greeted me as I enter the gallery, but “Carmel, Sunset on Ocean Ave.” I left the gallery that night with both paintings and haven’t been able to kick the habit since.
When the then owner decided to retire in early 2007, I felt I needed to take it over to keep my “Kinkade fix” satisfied.
The gallery was moved from Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, NC to McAdenville, NC (aka Christmastown-USA) when the mall said they needed the space for another big store. The staff noted this quaint mill village looks a lot like many of Kinkade’s hometown paintings. We have been in McAdenville on Main Street since March 2008.
Since Thom passed away in 2012, we have added 4 more artists to the gallery giving collectors a larger, more vibrant selection.
We look forward to seeing you at the gallery soon. Thanks for helping us “Share the Light”.
